I've heard that talcum powder is not safe for babies, is that true?

Like all mothers, you want whats best for your new little one.  Talcum powder is not the best choice for your baby.  Talcum powder is usually made up of zinc stearate, magnesium silicates, as well as other silicates which are finely ground.

Talcum powder is used usually for babies during diaper changing or on the skin.  When transmitted to the skin the small particles can fly through the air and be inhaled through the babys lungs.  Talc inhalation can cause pneumonia, inflammation (or swelling) of the airways of babies, and even be fatal.

Try a natural alternative to talc powder with Natures Baby Care Lovely Lavender Talc-Free Powder.  A purely cornstarch powder with added lavender essential oil will sooth and protect babys bottom from dampness causing diaper rash.  Also apply to the skin for a soothing aroma and softness.  This product can be used for the entire family!
